Sarah Jackson, a talented textile artist, talked to us about
how she uses folk art as an inspiration for her work. She brought lots of examples of her work and
interesting artefacts for us to see. Her
stimulus comes from the folk art from many countries but she has a particular passion
for Russian folk art (having studied Russian at university and also lived in
Russia for a while) She often uses vintage table linen and recycled materials
in her work, painting and dyeing the fabric to alter its appearance.
Her grandmother (Winifred Taylor) taught her to stitch and
as a lasting memory to her Sarah named her business after her. So if you want
