Janet Browne - Journeys

Janet's drawings

When you view someone’s work in a gallery you very rarely get to find out where the inspiration behind the final pieces came from or how the ideas developed. One of the joys of having speakers is that they often bring their sketch books with them and Janet did not disappoint us. Her training in fine art was clear in the stunning and often large detailed sketches. Janet carries a sketchbook with her at all times and constantly records the things that she sees on her journeys.

A finished "Journey" piece

She has an interest in maps and mappings and records things that are significant to her, the more significant the larger they will appear. Janet also uses different perspectives in the same piece of work giving the work its unique style.
