Priscilla Jones - Stitching in Nostalgia

A fabulous workshop with Priscilla Jones last Saturday. Priscilla brought loads of samples with her and we spent the morning busily painting fabrics.

Painted fabric samples drying

The real fun started in the afternoon when we cut and stitched the fabrics into a wonderful array of pictures. Here are just a few of the creations from the day.

Katie Chaplin - Seeing Dreams

It was lovely to welcome back Katie Chaplin last Saturday. Some of you may remember Katie’s last visit when she showed us how many layers of silk are wrapped, folded and tied to create the perfect formal Japanese kimono.

This time she brought lots of objects she had collected on her many visits to Japan. Katie told us about her experiences in Japan with a slide show of the many crafts she had learnt, cultural differences, the many friends she has made and buildings both modern and traditional.
Katie enthusiasm showed she has a real love and knowledge of Japanese culture.
She also brought along fabrics and craft kits which she designs herself. To find out more visit her website by clicking on the link below.
